"GHOUL SCHOOL" MINES RARE CELEBRITY CAMEOS

GHOUL SCHOOL Quick — name the 1990 horror cult oddity that features a pre-Howard Stern cameo from former sidekick Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling, New York talk show mouthpiece Joe Franklin and an early appearance by JACK & JILL and CROSSING JORDAN TV heartthrob Ivan Sergei (who 14 years ago was called simply "Keith McKenna").

Okay, give up? If you said GHOUL SCHOOL, you were not only correct but you win the "Most Obscure '90s Horror" trivia prize.

That is, until September 28, 2004, when GHOUL SCHOOL arrives on DVD courtesy of Splatter Rampage ($19.99 SRP, prebook August 31). The New Jersey-lensed zombie horror flick has been out of print for nearly a decade — no doubt much to the delight of Mr. Martling, Mr. Franklin and Mr. Sergei. But that didn't stop "gore guru" Chas. Balun from hailing the movie as "an amiable junk food treat" in his book THE GORE SCORE.

Sex, babes and rock ‘n roll! Two thugs in search of hidden treasure mistakenly unleash a chemical into the school’s water supply, causing everyone it comes into contact with to become flesh-eating ghouls. Now it’s up to a couple of geeks and a bad heavy metal band to escape the mayhem before the students consume everyone in sight!

As always, the disc is loaded up with a host of bonus features...
